How to Connect Grok to Coinrule MCP

Last updated July 17, 2026

Learn how Grok can connect to Coinrule MCP through an OAuth-compatible remote MCP connector and how to choose and manage access.

You can connect Grok to Coinrule when the Grok client you are using supports remote MCP connectors with OAuth 2.1. The setup follows the standard Coinrule MCP connection flow: add the Coinrule server URL, complete the Coinrule OAuth sign-in, choose your permissions, and test the connection.

The important point is that Grok support depends on the client or interface you are using. A Grok interface needs to support remote MCP connectors with OAuth to connect to the Coinrule MCP server.

For a general introduction, see  What Is Coinrule MCP?  or visit the  Coinrule MCP overview .

What can Grok do with Coinrule MCP?

Once a compatible Grok client is connected, the available capabilities depend on the access level you approve.

With Read only access, supported Coinrule tools can provide information about:

  • Your trading strategies.
  • Portfolio balances.
  • Asset holdings.
  • Recent signals.
  • Trades.
  • PnL.
  • Connected exchange or broker accounts.

With Read + Write access, additional tools can be made available for supported tasks such as:

  • Validating trading strategies.
  • Creating strategies.
  • Updating strategies.
  • Starting and stopping strategies.
  • Launching baskets.
  • Running backtests.

The full list of documented capabilities is available in the  Coinrule MCP documentation .

How do you connect Grok to Coinrule MCP?

Step 1: Check that your Grok client supports remote MCP

Before beginning, make sure the Grok interface you are using can add remote MCP connectors using OAuth.

Coinrule cannot enable this feature inside a Grok client that does not itself support remote MCP connections.

Step 2: Open the connector or MCP settings

In your Grok client, open the area used to add custom tools or remote MCP connectors.

Choose the option to add a new server.

The exact interface may vary depending on the Grok client you are using.

Step 3: Enter the Coinrule MCP server URL

Use:

https://cloud.coinrule.com/mcp

A compatible Grok client can use this endpoint to begin the Coinrule OAuth connection flow.

Use the URL exactly as shown.

Step 4: Sign in with Coinrule

Complete the Coinrule OAuth sign-in that opens during the connection process.

Grok does not receive your Coinrule password or exchange API keys.

Authentication and permission approval take place through Coinrule.

Step 5: Select Read only or Read + Write

Choose the permission level appropriate for what you want Grok to do.

Read only is appropriate when you want Grok to retrieve and inspect supported account information.

Read + Write is required when you want Grok to access supported write tools for actions such as creating or managing trading strategies.

Read  Coinrule MCP Permissions and Security  before granting write access.

Step 6: Test the connection

Once the connection is complete, start with a simple request.

For example:

List my Coinrule strategies.

You could also ask:

Show my Coinrule portfolio holdings.

This helps verify that Grok can access the authorised Coinrule MCP tools.

What can you ask Grok after connecting?

Depending on your permissions, you can ask Grok questions such as:

List my Coinrule agents and show their current status.
Show my portfolio holdings across my connected accounts.
What recent signals have my strategies generated?

With Read + Write access, you can also request supported strategy creation and management actions.

Coinrule's Grok documentation gives an example of starting a DCA strategy for ETH on paper trading.

When requesting write actions, be specific about details that affect execution.

These may include:

  • The trading venue.
  • The asset or trading pair.
  • The amount of capital.
  • Whether you want paper or live trading.
  • The strategy conditions.
  • Relevant risk parameters.

Clear instructions reduce ambiguity before Grok chooses and uses a Coinrule MCP tool.

What happens if your Grok client does not support MCP?

If the Grok interface you are using does not support remote MCP connectors with OAuth, you will not be able to complete the documented Coinrule MCP connection flow through that client.

In that case, use another compatible MCP client.

The AI client must provide the remote connector and OAuth capabilities required to communicate with Coinrule MCP.

The  Coinrule Agentic Trading MCP listing  provides an additional public reference for Coinrule's official MCP server.

Why can Grok see my account but not create strategies?

The connection may have Read only access.

Coinrule hides write tools from connections that do not have the coinrule:write scope.

To use supported actions that require write access, reconnect using Read + Write.

Grant this permission deliberately. When used with a live connected exchange or broker, write-enabled actions can involve real funds.

How do you revoke Grok's access?

Connected AI assistants are listed under Settings → Integrations in Coinrule.

You can revoke the Grok connection there.

Revoking a connection prevents its existing tokens from continuing to access your account.

How does Grok connect to Coinrule's wider AI trading ecosystem?

Coinrule MCP provides the connection between a compatible Grok client and authorised Coinrule tools.

Frequently asked questions

Does every version of Grok support Coinrule MCP?

What is the Coinrule MCP URL for Grok?

Use:

https://cloud.coinrule.com/mcp

Can Grok trade with Read only access?

No. Write tools are hidden from Read only connections.

Can I revoke the connection?

Yes. Go to Settings → Integrations in Coinrule and revoke the relevant connection.
