What it Coinrule MCP?

Last updated July 17, 2026

Coinrule MCP connects AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok to your Coinrule account. Once connected, you can check balances, monitor your portfolio, create trading strategies, run backtests, and manage trading activity directly from your AI chat.

Coinrule MCP is Coinrule’s official  Model Context Protocol (MCP)  server. MCP is an open standard that allows compatible AI assistants to securely connect to external tools and services.

With Coinrule MCP, AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and other MCP-compatible clients can connect directly to your Coinrule Cloud account. You can then interact with Coinrule using natural language — asking your AI assistant to check your portfolio, create or launch strategies, run backtests, manage baskets, and monitor performance without leaving the chat window.

What can you do with Coinrule MCP?

Once Coinrule MCP is connected, your AI assistant can help you with several parts of your trading workflow.

Trade across supported exchanges and brokers

Launch live or paper trading strategies on connected exchanges and brokers, including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken for spot and perpetuals, Hyperliquid, KuCoin, and Trading 212.

Depending on the connected venue, Coinrule supports workflows across crypto spot markets, perpetuals, and stocks.

Check balances and portfolio holdings

Ask your AI assistant to retrieve your cash balances, asset holdings, and portfolio allocation across your connected accounts.

Instead of navigating between accounts and dashboards, you can ask questions about your Coinrule portfolio directly in the conversation.

Create trading strategies with AI

Describe a trading strategy in plain English and use your AI assistant to help validate, test, and launch it through Coinrule.

You can create a strategy from your own idea or start with an existing strategy from the Script Library.

Explore strategy templates and baskets

Browse Script Library templates and available baskets through your AI assistant, then launch a curated basket or build a custom multi-asset basket.

This makes it possible to move from exploring a trading idea to testing or deploying it through the same conversational workflow.

Monitor your trading strategies

Ask your assistant to inspect a strategy's current status, open positions, profit and loss (PnL), trade history, and recent trading signals.

This can be useful when you want a quick summary of how your active Coinrule strategies are performing.

Run backtests before going live

Use Coinrule MCP to run historical simulations and compare different strategy scenarios before considering live trading.

Backtesting allows you to explore how a strategy would have behaved using historical market data, but past performance and backtest results do not guarantee future returns.

For a complete breakdown of the available capabilities, see the  Coinrule MCP tools reference .

What is the Coinrule MCP server URL?

To connect a compatible AI assistant or MCP client to Coinrule, use the official Coinrule MCP server address:

https://cloud.coinrule.com/mcp

During the connection process, you will sign in with your Coinrule account and choose whether to grant Read only or Read + Write access.

See  how to connect your AI assistant to Coinrule  for the complete setup and OAuth flow.

You can also follow the dedicated setup guides for:

Is Coinrule MCP secure?

Coinrule MCP uses OAuth 2.1 for authentication and permission management.

Your AI assistant does not receive your Coinrule password or exchange API keys. Instead, you explicitly choose the level of access you want to grant when you connect your assistant.

You can choose between:

Read only — allows your assistant to inspect strategies, balances, holdings, trades, signals, PnL, and backtests. It cannot place or change trades.

Read + Write — includes Read only capabilities and also allows your assistant to create, launch, update, start, and stop strategies, launch baskets, and run backtests.

Because Read + Write access can be used to launch strategies that trade real funds when connected to a live exchange or broker, you should review your instructions carefully and consider starting with Read only access or paper trading.

You can review and revoke connected AI assistants at any time from Settings → Integrations in Coinrule. Revoking a connection immediately prevents that assistant from accessing your account.

For more information, see  MCP scopes, permissions, and security .

Coinrule MCP vs the Coinrule web app

Coinrule MCP is an additional way to interact with your existing Coinrule account. It is not a separate trading product.

You can continue using the Coinrule web app as usual. Strategies created or launched through your AI assistant appear in your regular Agents dashboard alongside strategies created through the web interface.

This means you can start a trading workflow in your AI chat and continue reviewing or managing it directly from Coinrule.
